Industry representative to be appointed to road charging board

The trucking industry will have a say in how it will be taxed, after Australia’s transport ministers decided on Friday to appoint an industry representative to the board of Heavy Vehicle Charging and Investment Reform (HVCI).

The HVCI project aims to develop a new system for charging the trucking industry for its use of the roads, as well as helping governments make better decisions about road funding.

Business Tax Working Group backs down on truck tax changes

The trucking industry’s safety accreditation program, TruckSafe, is pleased to announce the appointment of NatRoad Chief Executive Officer Chris Melham to the TruckSafe Board.

TruckSafe is the trucking industry’s leader in business and risk management and is aimed at improving the safety and professionalism of trucking operators nationwide. Trucking operators accredited under TruckSafe are twice as safe as non-accredited operators.
